Clements Mountain from Logan Pass
Logan Pass is often the goal for people who start the Going to the Sun Road. When Mark Lewis and I arrived, on June 26, there was still plenty of snow. The road had opened about two weeks before. In 2014, when we were in the Glacier National Park, the road was still not open on June 21. From the Visitors Center, we saw the people in this scene, making their way along Hidden Lake Trail. We started to walk, thinking the lake was just over the crest where the trail traffic seemed to disappear. The snow was mushy and slippery. When we saw how far the trail went past that crest, we returned to the Visitors Center and moved on toward St. Mary on the eastern side of the park.
