It was about 5 PM on a Sunday afternoon when we cursed into Longview Alberta – Father’s Day. The overcast was still coming and going. Longview is a combination of ranch country and oil wells. The prairie around us was beautifully green. There was a huge oil pumping rig working where we entered town – probably the largest if have scene. A couple of the more interesting buildings were the hotel and Jerky Shop, which appeared to be the local bar/dancehall. We stopped at an Esso station to use the restroom and buy an ice cream snack, which prompted a minor encounter with local people. As we went to our car, what appeared to be a local was at the pumps in a very expensive sports car. As I write this, I think it was a Lamborghini or Ferrari, but I can’t say for sure.
