From the beginning of planning this trip, I thought Eureka was just out of range for this trip. However, by the time I got to the highway from my blocked trip to Hamilton hunger helped me to discover that Eureka was the best place to go. I am glad I did. It has well preserved buildings, including a fantastic opra house, from the mining days of the 1800s, as well as some 1950s looking facelifts. When I thought I was ready to leave town, I asked about cemeteries and was directed to an area with several. It took more than an hour to finish my time in one of them.
